9-12 March on Washington
Freedom is a message that resonates to people of all backgrounds. Black and white. Republican and Democrat. Young and old. This was never more evident than at the 9 – 12 March on Washington D.C. this past weekend. I was fortunate enough to take part in this historic event. The DC police estimated 1.2 million people were in attendance, whereas the park service claimed the number was closer to 1.5 million. Dan Bana, spokesperson for the National Park Service, stated it was the largest event held in D.C. ever. Americans of all walks of life, from all over the United States marched to show our elected officials “We control the government, they do not control us!”
I was there also, and there was a DC Government crowd counter device somewhere on PA Ave that reportedly said 2.2 million. I could believe it, because the March filled PA Ave from 9:30 AM to 2:40 PM, and the Marchers filled 2/3 of the Mall and surrounded the Capitol, according to reports I read. I was near the front, by the statue of the General at First Street, centered. It was a glorious day for Liberty.
I was there! It was the “Woodstock” of the Far Right!
